SUBMISSIONS

Paper submission

Authors are invited to submit unpublished and original papers that are not under consideration for publication at other conferences or journals. The papers are required to contain original scientific, expert or applied results of the authors. The authors should submit papers that present applications of theoretical methods in solving engineering problems, new devices and/or systems, results of own experimental research, new approaches or solutions to existing problems, etc. All submitted papers are subject to review, but the authors are responsible for the originality and quality of their papers. Submissions will be checked for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software. The expected number of pages for each submission is 4 to 6, except for the invited papers which may have more than 6 pages. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register, present paper, and pay the conference fee.

Paper submisison is done using OpenConf conference management system. Authors are required to follow the instructions for authors. Papers not prepared according to instructions will not be accepted.

Student papers

All authors of student papers must be students of the first (undergraduate) or the second (master) cycle of study. They must present the proof of the student status (student ID or equivalent) after the paper is accepted (please send scanned document to Symposium contact email). Student papers are accepted and presented within the student session (oral presentation) and must be prepared according to instructions for student papers.

We also accept student papers presenting results obtained within student final/graduation thesis at first cycle study. The graduation date in this case must be in 2023 or 2024 (appropriate document as a proof is needed).

Review process

All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. The Symposium uses a blind review process. Submissions will be evaluated by relevance to the Symposium topics, scientific or professional contributions, technical correctness and clarity, originality and technical preparation.

Important dates

Full paper submission: 31.1.2024.
Acceptance notification: 28.2.2024.
Camera-ready paper: 4.3.2024.
Final list of papers: 10.3.2024.
Registration and payment: 15.3.2024.
Opening: 20.3.2024.

Paper presentation

Paper presentation type could be oral or poster, it is selected by author during the paper submission. The organizer reserves the right to change the type of presentation if needed. Authors will be informed about the decision in this case.

Oral presentation should be prepared using Microsoft Power Point (or similiar) and submitted to technical secretary of the session at least half an hour before the session begining. Presentations last about 10 min including discussion, sometimes longer, depending on the number of papers in the session. Necessary equipment for presentation is provided by the organizer. If needed, authors can use their own notebook or other computer.

Paper can also be presented as a poster. Authors should prepare and print poster according to given instructions. Instructions for preparation of poster presentations are available here. For poster presentation authors are instructed to use Poster template.

Participants who are unable to attend the Symposium in person can choose the virtual presentation option. Authors are required to prepare and submit video presentations of papers with embedded audio recording of the author's presentation (preffered MP4 HD or full HD video), with duration up to 10 minutes. Presentations are to be submitted to the email address infoteh@etf.ues.rs.ba by 15.3.2024. Alternatively, due to the size of the file, it is possible to use other ways to submit a presentation (Google Drive, WeTransfer, or similar). Microsoft Teams will be used for virtual presentations. Authors will receive all necessary information to access virtual sessions. At least one of the authors is required to be online during virtual session and available for questions and disussion related to the paper.

Publication

All accepted and presented papers will be published in the Symposium proceedings (web and USB version). Papers written in English are also eligible for submission (per authors choice) for possible publication in IEEE Xplore. Papers submitted to IEEE Xplore are published in USB proceedings that is handed out to participants during registration at the Symposium. All other accepted and presented papers are published in web proceedings after the Symposium.

Authors of papers submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must transfer copyright to IEEE. Contact authors of these papers will receive email with instructions on signing IEEE eCopyright Form.

Authors of selected papers may also be invited to publish their paper in the following journals, free of charge:
- International Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computing (https://ijeec.etf.ues.rs.ba)
- Electronics (http://els-journal.etf.unibl.org)
- Journal of Mechatronics, Automation and Identification Technology (http://www.jmait.org).

Instructions for preparing accepted papers for submission to IEEE Xplore

IMPORTANT NOTE: These instructions apply only to final versions of accepted papers registered with option for submission to IEEE Xplore. Contact authors of these papers have already submitted final version of paper in Word (doc/docx) format using INFOTEH-JAHORINA OpenConf system. Instructions on signing IEEE eCopyright Form will be sent to authors in a separate email directly from IEEE.

Final version of accepted paper submitted for possible publication in the IEEE Xplore digital library must be IEEE compatible PDF file. For conversion to IEEE compatible PDF or validation of existing PDF file authors must use the IEEE PDF eXpress system. If necessary, contact Danijel Mijic at danijel.mijic@etf.ues.rs.ba for additional information.

After the required data are added to the paper, it must be validated by PDF eXpress. To access PDF eXpress for INFOTEH-JAHORINA 2024, please follow these steps:
-open PDF eXpress site: https://ieee-pdf-express.org
-first-time users are required to create account by clicking on Create Account link
-login using INFOTEH-JAHORINA 2024 Conference ID (60418X) and your account data (Email Address, Password)
-validate your prepared PDF file or convert Word or other file used to prepare your paper
-check the generated or validated PDF file before approving it for use by the organizer (before activating the option Approve)
